Lauren Burke

My name is Lauren Burke. I was born on 21/4/2000. I started creating art at a young age.
I was always fascinated with painting & drawing, & I knew in my heart I would grow up to be an artist. My ideas stem from events that have happened in my life. I deal with mental health & illness in my work quite often, as it is something I have experienced & understand.
Turning my experiences into art helps me to process them, like a type of Art Therapy.
I would like to think that someone observing my working can feel this too, that it translates from me the artist, to the observer.
I also like to work with themes like mythology & folklore. I love fantasy & putting these worlds in my head onto paper or canvas makes them seem real.
